I may have mentioned the need to unload a few boxes of Girl Scout cookies…
I may have also mentioned that it is not really cold here…
It was a beautiful, sunny day here today and we live on a pretty busy street so I decided to put the Misses to work. We held a lemonade / Girl Scout cookie stand in our front yard and I have to say it was a total success!
While I was out running errands yesterday, the girls made this poster because they were so excited:
So cute! I love the brown vest for Brownies and the blue vest for Daisies. We made two other (slightly more readable) signs that we posted on each side of the yard and set up shop. Miss F requested her favorite lemonade, so we made some strawberry lemonade to serve along with the regular kind.
We had lots of customers (both family members – thanks! – and drive-bys) and sold almost all of our boxes of cookies. The lemonade was a hit, too. Even had some refills!
A couple of hours in the fresh air, supporting a good cause, refreshing beverage in hand = not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
(It was almost gone before I was able to take a picture of it!)

4 c. cold water

1. Combine first 3 ingredients in container of an electric blender; process until smooth.
2. Pour strawberry mixture into a large pitcher; stir in cold water, ice, and lemon slices, if desired.

P.S. – I hope you guys support your local mini-entreprenuers. Anytime I see a lemonade stand, I always stop and buy a cup. I love it that little kids still do this. It makes me happy.

It makes me happy that kids still do this too…. especially those that make homemade signage!!
