I stumbled across a really cute Valentine’s day card craft idea for the girls this past Sunday on Pinterest. Yes, I realize that is 5 days before V-day, but I was undaunted.
I went to Michael’s to find the special bags they called for. Zilch. A little daunted.
I went on Amazon and found the bags. Faith renewed. I also have Amazon Prime (a lifesaving investment for me, especially around birthdays and Christmas!), so I have free two-day shipping. Yes!
So, how stinkin’ cute are these??
The Pinterest version looked like it was sold out on Etsy, (it looks like it is in stock now) so I did some googling and found a cute, free printable. I did have to resize it and do some editing, so that four perfectly-sized fishbowls fit on a letter-sized sheet of cardstock, but I did it and so can you. All you need are these bags (or some squared-off clear treat bags would be fine, I’m sure) and Swedish Fish and you are good to go. (Goldfish would also work if you didn’t want to use candy!) I subbed out the silver twist ties that came with the bags so that I could use red ribbon. I thought it picked up on the red of the candy. I can’t be stopped…
I love them and they are especially appropriate for my first-grader who is new to her school this year. And I love that the Misses and I got to do them together instead of just picking some Valentine’s off the shelf.
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
xoxo, TPH
