I first made these for the girls two years ago and they loved them! This time they helped me in the kitchen.
They are really cute, easy to make and a perfect Halloween-time snack. Yes, I know marshmallows aren’t totally healthy, but serve the “mouths” with extra peanut butter and apple slices to make up for it.
Your little monsters will love them!
I’ve never made the quantity described in the recipe, I usually just swipe some peanut butter onto four apple slices to make one mouth for each girl. And, because they eat them right away, I usually skip the orange juice step…
Yield: 35 “mouths”
5 medium-size Red Delicious apples
1/4 cup orange juice
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 (10 1/2 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
1. Core and cut each apple in to 14 (1/4 Inch) wedges. Brush each wedge with orange juice, and spread one side of each wedge evenly with creamy peanut butter.
2. Press four marshmallows into peanut butter on half of wedges. Top with remaining wedges, peanut butter side down.
