My parents were in town, visiting from Houston, for Miss E’s Kindergarten Graduation. They were here for a whole week, I took three (blissful) days off of work and didn’t want to take anytime away from their trip sitting in front of a computer. Sorry. Yes, I realize that I could have been proactive and saved some entries to post in advance, but if you had only seen the sorry state of my guest room (read: storage room) you would know I needed every second to get ready for them to arrive!
Sad, but true.
We had a great time together and I’ll report back on some of our adventures later on! But first, today is Memorial Day, which means the unofficial start of Summer. As such, we’re grilling tonight but I realized that I didn’t have dessert for us. D bought some cherries at the store, so I knew we what I could do!
This dip has been a go-to dessert for so long – it is light, healthy, and super easy (who knew that three simple ingredients could come together so deliciously?). This dip is seriously addictive. I promise you’ll love it! Happy Memorial Day!
Cherries with Rum-Sugar Cream
1 cup fat-free sour cream
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. dark rum
48 fresh cherries with stems (about 1 pound)
1. Combine first 3 ingredients. Cover and chill thoroughly.
2. Serve as a dip with cherries.
Note: Substitute fresh strawberries for cherries, if desired.
