I have been absent this week and for that I am sorry. I have been engrossed in a series of books that I could NOT put down. Totally absorbed. I didn’t make a Friday Cocktail, I didn’t make a Sunday Breakfast. (Yes, I had chardonnay and the Misses had cereal, so I wasn’t totally neglectful – just not blog-worthy…)
I’ll make it up this week! 🙂
Soooo, Halloween is coming soon and I made these little ghosties for the Misses to surprise them in their lunchboxes. It worked!
This is really so simple, and so cute. Make a batch of hardboiled eggs, and paint faces on with black food coloring. (Do not use the gel type – it doesn’t work!!) I tried a bunch of different ways to paint the eggs and I could not use a paintbrush – it was too hard to control.
I’m betting my sister could make some great faces. If only she could boil eggs… 🙂 (I kid. A little.)
I ended up using the blunt end of my wooden stirring spoon dipped in the food coloring for the mouth and the wooden handle of a paintbrush for the eyes. The website below that I saw this on has some cute faces too. They also suggest cutting ragged shapes into the bottom so they look more tattered, but I obviously didn’t do that.
Boo to you!
