But this recipe is a bit regressive. Like back to my college days, when doing shots was 1) fun! and 2) acceptable. I’ve had this recipe saved for so long because I couldn’t truly resist – a dessert that tastes like a shot I used to order in college???
Yes, and please.
I served this with Nilla Wafers, cubes of pound cake, and butter wafer cookies. We all agreed that the Nilla Wafers were the best. I bet strawberries would be good too.
Yield: 2 1/2 cups
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, cut into small pieces
2/3 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup coffee-flavored liqueur (homemade)
1/4 cup Irish cream liqueur (Bailey’s)
2 Tbsp. orange-flavored liqueur (Cointreau)
Dippers: Whole strawberries, orange sections, fresh pineapple spears or other fresh fruit, cubes of pound cake or cookies.
1. In a small saucepan, combine cream cheese, cream and sugar. Heat, stirring frequently, over low heat until cheese is melted and mixture is smooth.
2. Remove from heat and stir in liqueurs.
3. Chill. Serve with desired dippers such as fruit, cake or cookies.
