February is almost upon us! And we all know that I really don’t like our next “big” holiday, Valentine’s Day. But romance, and all that goes with it – flowers, candy, jewels – are all good in my book. (The jewels are more than okay…) I just want them on another day!
I don’t need to be plied with flowers and chocolate-covered strawberries on February 14th to know I am loved. But, make this cocktail for me on any given Friday and I am yours.
Nothing super interesting from the top:
But, sooooo pretty from the side:
I did muddle this up to drink it because the strawberry puree was so good, but truth be told, the chocolate liqueur+vodka topping was mighty good on its own! This is definitely a dessert-y drink and, overall, a tasty treat! And I got use my homemade strawberry vodka – bonus! Happy Friday.
Chocolate Covered Strawberry
2 oz. strawberry puree (about 6 large strawberries whirled in a mini-chopper or food processor. (I used my under-utilized Krups mini coffee bean grinder. I have too many appliances…)
1 oz. strawberry vodka
1 oz. chocolate liqueur (I used Godiva)
1. Pour puree into a chilled martini glass.
2. Combine vodka and liqueur in a shaker filled with ice; shake vigorously.
3. Strain gently over puree.
4. Garnish with a chocolate-covered strawberry or a sliced strawberry.
