I make a really good Key Lime pie. Really, really good. So much so that I don’t ever order it for dessert when we are out because I know I got this. Why I haven’t made one and posted it here is a mystery. May have to remedy this soon…
Anyway, I bought a bottle of this Key Lime Whipped Vodka the last time we were at Total Wine (amazing place BTW, they have EVERYTHING!) because I knew I wanted to try this particular drink. The vodka smells so good and Key lime pie-ish when you open it, that I’m sure it is sippable on its own, just haven’t tried that yet. This cocktail, however, I did try and it is very good.
Just like a Key lime pie, it is sweet and tart with a delicious graham cracker crust. Yum. Happy Friday everyone! And Happy Pi Day!
Key Lime Pie Martini
Yield: One cocktail
2 Tbsp. graham cracker crumbs
1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
2 oz. Pinnacle Key Lime Whipped Vodka
1 oz. simple syrup (FYI – Just equal parts sugar and water dissolved together in a saucepan over medium heat. Once dissolved, remove from heat and let cool. Store in the refrigerator and use as needed. I always have this on hand. Sad, but true!)
1 oz. triple sec
1 oz. Key lime juice
1. In a shallow bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs; set aside.
2. Rim a martini glass rim in extra simple syrup, dip in the graham cracker mixture and set aside.
3. Pour the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well, until chilled – about 30 seconds.
4. Pour into prepared martini glass and serve.
