Some random things from this past week:

This past Friday, we had dinner with friends at great place in Coral Gables – Frenchie’s Diner.  The owners are the parents of a darling little girl that Miss F is in school with.  She is the chef (amazing resume!) and her husband runs the front-of-house operations.  The restaurant has been open for lunch and early dinner for a while, but they just started serving dinner until 10 p.m. on Fridays.  Great dinner, great friends!

At this same dinner, I was commenting how I wanted to go see Adam Ant on his North American tour (going on now).

[My love for Adam Ant probably deserves its own post and how my best friend growing up had the most amazing taste in music and broadened my little suburban horizons to include David Bowie, Adam, Lou Reed, etc.] I read the Friday newspaper on Saturday only to realize he was in South Florida.  As I was expressing my desire to see him live.  AARRGGHH.  He literally was performing as I was talking about it.

Sigh.

I’m leaving today to go to Houston to see my family.  Spending some very much-needed girl time with my mom and sister and we are headed to the EPIC antique fair in Round Top, Texas on Friday.  So much fun and so much to see!   We especially love the greatness that is Marburger Farm. Tents upon tents of amazing vendors.  What a great way to spend a day with women I love.  🙂

Had a “cute” week last week in that I had one or two ensembles that got positive feedback from friends and co-workers.  Rare that I can actually plan ahead what I am going to wear, but I did.  One of the ensembles involved this great purchase from last week:

How cute is this dress?  And only $24.94 from Old Navy!  I may have also bought the gray/salmon version too….

I have an older necklace from Harold’s aka Harold Powell (a moment of silence, please, for the demise of one of my favorite stores…) in Dallas that is exact same color yellow.  Paired the dress with these J. Crew shoes (sold out):

The other outfit involved this dress from Anthropologie that is both flattering and cute (and now on sale!):

Do we see a theme with the stripes?  I must be stopped.  Stripes are taking over my closet.

And last, but not least, I joined Annie’s Organic Buying Club – our first share/box gets picked up next Monday and I can’t wait to see what kind of produce it is packed with!

So I guess that’s it for the most random post ever!  From Adam Ant to Round Top, Texas – What can I say, I am a girl of varied tastes and interests!  🙂
